In
early 2008 I devised and successfully implemented the ‘Oxford
Muslim Pupils’ Empowerment Programme (OMPEP)’ which
was recognised as a unique and groundbreaking educational programme
in its field. It was highlighted nationally in the ‘Learning
to be Safe’ toolkit by the UK government and acclaimed by
leading educationalists.
The Oxford Foundation was founded to develop OMPEP further and explore
ways through strategic partnerships of maximising its impact nationally.
In addition the objects of the foundation are:
• To develop innovative educational programmes for young people that seek
to cultivate and deepen understanding of and between different faiths and cultures,
and challenge violent extremism in all its manifestations thereby leading to
mutual respect, harmony and belonging;
• Empower and support young people, teachers and others through training
and educational resources;
• Seek strategic partners nationally and internationally for purposes of
but not limited to research and development and implementation of innovative
educational solutions;
• Disseminate and share ideas through but not limited to e-media, conferences
and publications.
I do hope you will find this website useful and that you will share
in our aims and support us through collaboration as a partnership school,
university or a non-profit making body with shared goals.
